Working at TSBVITeacher and student working on a science project

At TSBVI, we believe our employees are our strength. Join us as we deliver compassionate teaching to our students who are blind, deaf-blind, or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.

While experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired is helpful, very few people have this opportunity prior to working at TSBVI. Our training program will give you the skills you need to be a successful and confident employee whose work makes a meaningful difference for students who are blind and visually impaired in Texas.

In addition to the chance to have a positive, life changing impact on our students, eligible employees benefit from the following:

  • medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • disability and life insurance benefits
  • vacation, holiday, and sick time
  • defined benefit retirement plan through Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS)
  • retirement savings programs
  • commuter spending account
  • education and training through various programs
